A tragic true story, my Mom use to play this song for me and tell me the story of Alfonsina Storni, a woman so sad over the loss of her love that she took her own life by walking to the shore and drowning herself in the ocean. She was a poet a single mother an intelligent woman, a very depressed Woman with a broken heart. I remember my Mom telling me this story and always ending it with "and that's why we don't fall in love" (typical cynical Mama)
This song is so beautiful and translating does no justice, this song alone is a good reason to learn Spanish. It still makes me cry every time, without fail.
