Jack Kerouac

“What is the feeling when you're driving away from people, and they recede on the plain till you see their specks dispersing? -it's the too huge world vaulting us, and it's good-bye. But we lean forward to the next crazy venture beneath the skies.”

Bob Dylan and Tom Waits had to be inspired somehow, right?

I can just imagine an encounter with him, sitting in a dark little dive bar in the 60's, Jack sitting across from me, with the silhouette of his cigarette smoke dancing around his face. Listening to him speak, with his stories dancing around my ears. One scotch on the rocks, and one girl falling for a tortured artist.
